  • 19-7-2017

Warwick Conferences, the collection of meeting venues on the University of Warwick campus, has invested £6.5 million to refurbish one of its conference and training centres - Radcliffe. The project is being carried out in three phases with the re-opening set for September 2017. Then, visitors and delegates will experience a completely revamped bar and lounge area, featuring a new modern design that has strong sustainable features. With heating and ventilation modifications, and PATA upgrades, the refurbishment is aimed to enhance the delegate experience while creating an eco-friendly environment. The external windows have been replaced to achieve thermal conductance of 1.6 while modern double-glazed units will help reduce energy use through thermal performance and light transmittance. The venues meeting spaces have also been made over with new carpets, walks, skirting boards and doors. Richard Harrison, head of conference and training centres, said: "Investing in providing even more effective facilities that continue to satisfy and surpass the needs of our clients is a huge priority for us, as well as ensuring we provide the highest levels of service to every guest. In light of this we are currently carrying out a £6.5 million refurbishment at Radcliffe, which is due for reopening in September 2017. This will enable us to deliver enhanced meeting experiences for up to 180 delegates within the venue, meeting an increased demand for small to medium-sized conferences."
